Statement of Faith

What We Believe

We stand firmly on the unchanging Word of God—the same yesterday, today, and forever. These truths are not opinions, but the bedrock of our faith and practice.

"For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ."

— 1 Corinthians 3:11 (KJV)

The Holy Scriptures

We believe that the King James Bible, containing the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments, is the verbally inspired Word of God. It is without error, infallible, and the sole authority in all matters of faith and practice.

The Godhead

We believe in one true God, eternally existing in three Persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—each possessing equally all the attributes of deity and worthy of the same worship and obedience.

Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, died as a substitutionary sacrifice, rose bodily on the third day, and will return in glory.

The Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine Person, equal with the Father and the Son. He convicts of sin, regenerates believers, indwells them permanently, and empowers them for service.

Man and Sin

We believe that man was created in innocence but fell into sin through Adam's transgression. All men are sinners by nature and by choice, under just condemnation without defense or excuse.

Salvation

We believe that salvation is by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ alone—not by works. All who repent and believe in Christ are born again and receive the gift of eternal life.

Eternal Security

We believe in the eternal security of the believer. Those who are truly born again are kept by the power of God and can never lose their salvation.

The Church

We believe that the local church is a congregation of baptized believers, associated by covenant, practicing the ordinances, and carrying out the Great Commission. Each church is autonomous under Christ.

Baptism

We believe that believer's baptism by immersion in water is the scriptural mode of baptism. It is an act of obedience, a public testimony of faith, and a picture of the believer's identification with Christ's death, burial, and resurrection.

The Lord's Supper

We believe the Lord's Supper is a memorial ordinance, using unleavened bread and the fruit of the vine, to remember Christ's sacrifice until He comes again.

Biblical Separation

We believe in separation from worldliness and unto God. The Christian life should be characterized by holiness, avoiding practices that dishonor the Lord and hinder testimony.

The Second Coming

We believe in the personal, imminent return of Jesus Christ. He will rapture the church before the tribulation, then return to earth to establish His millennial kingdom.

Heaven and Hell

We believe in the literal existence of heaven and hell. The saved will dwell eternally with God in heaven; the lost will be cast into the lake of fire for eternal punishment.

Missions & Evangelism

We believe every Christian has a responsibility to share the Gospel. The church is commissioned to make disciples of all nations, beginning at home and reaching to the uttermost parts of the earth.

The Christian Family

We believe that marriage is between one man and one woman for life. Husbands are to love their wives as Christ loved the church; wives are to submit to their husbands; and children are to obey their parents in the Lord.

Frequently Asked Questions

We use the King James Bible in all our preaching, teaching, and personal study. We believe it is the preserved Word of God in English and trust it completely as our final authority.

Our services are reverent yet warm. Expect congregational singing of hymns, prayer, Scripture reading, and Bible-centered preaching. We dress modestly but not formally. Visitors are welcomed but never singled out or embarrassed.

Lighthouse Baptist Church is an independent, fundamental Baptist church. We are not part of any denomination or convention. Each local church is autonomous under the headship of Christ, cooperating voluntarily with like-minded churches for fellowship and missions.

Yes! We believe that once a person is truly saved, they are saved forever. Salvation is a work of God, not man, and cannot be lost. "And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish" (John 10:28).

We practice believer's baptism by immersion. Baptism does not save—it is an outward testimony of an inward change. We do not baptize infants; baptism is for those who have personally trusted Christ as Savior.
